Sweet River Church has three who oversee the operation of the church. Jim and Ticia Bartay both stand in the office of Elder and function in our prayer ministry, while Rev. Tony Gibson is our senior pastor. Pastor Gibson offers a unique combination of both Reformed and Pentecostal theology.
With over eight years of pastoral ministry and twenty five years of various Christian ministry, pastor Gibson thoroughly enjoys his calling.
He is a degreed graduate of International Bible College of San Antonio, Texas, a Pentecostal missionary college accredited through Oral Roberts University. His Reformed theology is self-taught and came through private study and much prayer beginning back in 1994.
We feel he takes the best of two worlds, the reformed world of free-grace, and the Charismatic world of Holy Spirit presence and power. His approach gives way to an effective and well balanced ministry where a truly “free gospel of grace” and a fresh communion of the Holy Spirit can, and is, experienced and appreciated. Thus both the Character and the Power of Christ come together at Sweet River Church.
